he Finger Lakes has released their 2018 All League Awards and Final Stadings.  The Nine team division released 15 1st Team Awards, 15 2nd Team Awards and 17 3rd Team Awards.  Additionally, Player of the Year honors were given to the top defenseman, attacker and midfielder.  Waterloo's Andy Lee was named Coach of the Year.

This year`s contest, featuring some of the best of the graduating seniors will be held on Thursday, June 14th at Victor High School. On the second to last day of the regular season, four of the eight games played went into overtime.  R-H defeated Brighton 9-8 off a goal from Rayea Davis, Fairport defeated Canandaigua 10-9 off a goal from Morgan Schwab, Penfield over HFL 7-6 and Geneva over C-C 13-12.  Additional scores were Spencerport over Pal-Mac 18-5, Waterloo over Aquinas 14-12, Mynderse-Romulus over Gananda 11-6 and Irondequoit over Greece Storm 9-2.

here were seven games played today in Section Five.  Marcus Whitman defeated Gananda 14-10 in the highest scoring game of the night.  Eastridge over Wayne 5-4 was the closest game of the night with Thomas' 9-7 win over Hilton also a close contest.  In the lone game with an out-of-section opponent, West Genesee defeated HFL 11-5.

he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

# 66  Ginsberg Scores In Overtime to Lift Gananda

Jenna Ginsberg scored with 2:25 remaining in overtime to give Gananda their second overtime win of the season.  Previous, Jordan Cunningham scored in overtime to give the Blue Panthers the win over East Rochester.  The games were extremely similar with Gananda taking an early lead that their opponents fought back from to force overtime before winning in sudden victory.  Gananda in 3-2 on the season.

oday saw multiple close games with Mercy defeating Brockport 5-3, Waterloo defeating Geneva 7-5 and Livonia defeating Wayne 12-9.  There were also a number of one sided contests with Penn Yan defeating Gananda 11-3, Marcus Whitman defeating Newark 13-1 and Spencerport defeated Gates-Chili 19-3.  Pal-Mac also defeated Aquinas 15-9.

# 50  Cunningham Scores Back to Back in Overtime Win
unior midfielder Jordan Cunningham scored back to back goals to end regulation and secure the win in overtime for Gananda.  The Blue Panthers defeated East Rochester 6-5.  The story was really a game of streaks.  Gananda came out of the gate and scored four quick unanswered goals. East Rochester then took control of the pace of the game and scored five goals of their own to take their first lead with 3:23 remaining in regulation before Cunningham scored her goals.
