ince the conclusion of the season, we have worked to collect all the Post Season Awards to release at a single time.  As we approach a week out from the State Finals, we have determined that we cannot wait any longer.  Tonight, we posted all the information that we have received and will update the missing data when it is provided.  We have received some requests to update individual personal pages and apologize to those waiting to see their records updated.

he Monroe County League has released their 2018 All League awards.  In total there were 53 1st Team picks and 51 2nd Team picks.  In addition, each of the three divisions had a Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.

ith the conclusion of the Section Five Tournament.  Each game had an All Tournament Team named.  The Team consists of the top 13 players.  There are 12 regular spots and 1 MVP.

# 389  Section Five Finals

Updated 05/29/2018 The Tournament has been completed and we have our Champions.  In Class A, Penfield defeated RH.  In Class B, Brighton defeated Spencerport in overtime.  In Class C, HFL defended their Title and defeated Geneva.  In Class D, Pal-Mac defending their Title and defeated Penn Yan.  In addition to securing the Girl's Section Five Championship, the Penfield Patriots Boy's program also won the Class A Title.

here were ten games played tonight.  Pittsford remained undefeated at 14-0 with their 8-7 overtime win over Rush-Henrietta in the closest game of the night.  Also tonight, in a non-overtime single goal game, Wayne defeated Eastridge 6-5.  Additional scores include, Victor over Greece Storm 16-6, Mynderse-Romulus over Newark-Midlakes 8-5, Marcus Whitman over Livonia 10-5, Aquinas over Geneva 16-7, Schroeder over Gates Chili 14-4, Penfield over Spencerport 11-7, Fairport over Thomas 12-6 and Brighton over Hilton 19-5.

here were two games that went to overtime tonight.  Rush Henrietta Junior Gabby Garrett scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to defeat Canandaigua 9-8 and Whitesboro defeated Waterloo 14-13 in overtime.  Additional games played tonight were Thomas over Mercy 15-8, Irondequoit over Gates Chili 16-3, Greece Storm over Eastridge 12-4, Penfield over Brighton 13-5 and Fairport over HFL 10-8.  Victor travelled to West Genesee to become the third team to face the Wildcats this season; West Genesee defeated Victor 17-3.

# 326  Nothnagle and Herring Lead RH in Win
ush Henrietta came back with the final three goals to defeat Webster Thomas 8-7.  The Royal Comets were led by their defense.  Goalie Kaila Herring and defenseman Clare Nothnagle were demonstrative in the win and were the key factors for the Royal Comets.  The remaining three starting close defensemen were all Sophomores and also had a great day: Jenna DeVito, Amber Daley and Grace Nothnagle.

here was only a single game played tonight.  R-H was the first Section Five team to defeat Baldwinsville this season.  The Bees had previous defeated Brighton (HERE) and Penfield (HERE).  The Royal Comets held off a late push by Baldwinsville to defeat the Bees 9-8.

he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

Monroe County End of Season Awards have 50 First and 50 Second Team All County Players.  In addition there were 4 All Americans and 4 Academic All Americans.  As well as Defensive Players of the Year, a Midfielder of the Year and an Offensive Player of the Year.

# 137  Howe and Pollack Lift Fairport to Finals

Fairport scored the first goal and the game was never tied in their 9-5 win over Rush-Henrietta.  The second seeded Red Raiders took control of the game early and although the Royal Comets fought hard, they could not keep pace.  Maddie Howe finished the game with a team leading 4g-1a, as well as three draw controls.  Brittney Pollack finished with 1g-4a for the Red Raiders.  Junior midfielder Sydney Meagher was also a major factor in the win with 6 draw controls.  The Red Raiders won 11/16 draws.

# 134  Garrett and Mashewske lead RH to Victory
lthough the game was close for the first 20 minutes, R-H scored four unanswered to lead 5-2 over Mercy and never looked back.  The Royal Comets also added the final five goals.  Mercy scored the opening goal with Sami Carey scoring with a drive around behind the cage.  0:36 later, RH tied the game with a free position goal from Emily Schillinger.  The Monarchs kept the game close with another goal less than one minute later.  Katie Sergeant was patient and drove to the cage and found the back of the net.

With the final week of the regular season upon us, tonight was the biggest night of games left in the season.  The closest game tonight was Corning over Penn Yan 12-11 in overtime and Waterloo over Geneva 8-7 in overtime.  Other close games included, Brockport over Hilton 8-7, Irondequoit over Canandaigua 8-7 and Brighton over HFL 6-5.  Additional games were Churchville-Chili over Victor 11-7, Pittsford over Thomas 18-8, Fairport over Penfield 12-8, Arc/Oly over Gates Chili 15-6, Gananda over East Rochester 9-5, Wayne over Newark 12-7, Spencerport over Eastridge 19-2 and RH over Mercy 16-4.

# 106  Rush Henrietta Wins 5th Straight

Rush Henrietta led 7-1 on their way to a 10-5 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima.  The Royal Comets have won their last five games (Penfield, Thomas, Schroeder) and improved their record to 8-4 (back in April they were 3-4).  The Cougars, who were just off a 12-9 win over Victor, only scored two goals in the first half.

# 90  Garrett and Schillinger Lead the Royal Comets to Victory
ush-Henrietta scored the first five goals to lead 5-0 on their way to a 16-6 win over Livonia.  The Royal Comets controlled the pace of the entire game, although there were stand out performances from both teams during the contest.

# 83  Irondequoit's Melidona and Butler are Keys in Victory
idfielder Quinn Melidona and attackman Marina Butler were both key figures in Irondequoit's 10-8 win over Rush-Henrietta.  The Eagles led for nearly the entire contest with R-H only tying the game briefly 4-4 early in the second half.  Butler finished the game with 1g-3a and Melidona was a force on defense for the Eagles.  Four different players scored two goals for Irondequoit with Celina Alvarado, Annie Brennan, Kiersten Pease and Erika Sherwood scoring.
