# 701  Victor and Mercy Win Championships
MERCY-10 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-9 - The Cougars took the 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and then led 8-5 at the half. The second half belonged to the Monarchs who outscored HFL 4-1 in the third, tying the game at 9-9 after three quarters. Mercy scored the lone goal in the fourth giving them the Championship. Leading the scoring for Mercy (9-9) were sophomore Mia Quagrello (4g), junior Krista Harnischfeger (2g-1a), and sophomore attacker Sydney Cook (2g). Leading the scoring for Honeoye Falls-Lima (9-10) were senior Camryn Trybuskiewicz (1g-4a), sophomore Shaye Angelo (4g), and junior Rylee Bennett (1g-1a). VICTOR-15 at CANANDAIGUA-10 - Canandaigua took a 3-2 lead after the first quarter, but the Blue Devils responded with seven goals in the second quarter and led at the half 9-5. When they outscored the Gray Wolves 5-2 in the third it was too much for Canandaigua despite scoring three goals in the last stanza. Scoring for Canandaigua (16-3) were senior Hanna Davis (3g-1a), sophomore Lola Schorr (3g-1a), senior Caroline Lyttle (2g-1a), sophomore Leah Sheridan (2g-1a), and junior Samantha Lupton (1a).  There was no report from Victor (16-3) at post-time. strong>DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were six games played on the last day of the regular season. Penn Yan won a close one with Honeoye Falls-Lima. Other winners were Brighton, Canandaigua, Waterloo, Eastridge/BK and Livonia-Avon.

BRIGHTON-17 at MERCY-9 - Brighton Junior goalie Lauren Russell reached her 200th save with her 7 saves. Leading the scoring for Brighton (8-8) were junior midfielder Ireland Mistretta (6g-1a), senior attacker Lucy Lederman (5g), and junior attacker Alexandra Madison (1g-2a).  There was no report from Mercy (7-9) at post-time.       [ BOX SCORE] 

HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-8 at PENN YAN-10 - The Mustangs extended their winning streak to five wins (13-3) in this close game at Penn Yan. Junior attacker Corinne Barden (Penn Yan) reached her 100th career goal and Junior midfielder Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger reached her 100th career draw controls. Scoring for Penn Yan (13-3) were Bailey Cooper (5g), Madison Pierce (3a), Corinne Barden (2g), and Ruby Berry (1g). CANANDAIGUA-18 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-4 - Eight different players scored goals for Canandaigua in this game including Senior defender Jessica Andrews and Sophomore Morgan Whyte who each scored their first Varsity goal in the game. Others scoring for Canandaigua (14-2) were Samantha Lupton (3g-3a), Hanna Davis (4g-1a), and Aubri Mack-Miller (2g). In the goal for Canandaigua was senior Molly Urlacher with 1s/0ga = 100%. # 690  CA Ends Undefeated Season in One Goal Loss
strong>DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Canandaigua (13-1) ended their undefeated season at the hands of South Jefferson (Section III) in a one goal game that ended 8-7. Pal Mac Head Coach E.J. Burse won his 200th game when the Red Raiders defeated East Aurora. Thomas won on the road, defeated Liverpool 13-11.

BALDWINSVILLE-3 at VICTOR-22 -  The Blue Devils extended their winning streak to seven games.  Twelve players scored for Victor (12-3), led by Devin Livingston (4g/1a) and Julia Bruno (3g), and Harper Myers scored her first varsity goal.  The Blue Devils host Pittsford on Wednesday.        [ BOX SCORE] 

SOUTH JEFFERSON-8 at CANANDAIGUA-7 -   Canandaigua (13-1) was unable to overcome a 7-2 first-half deficit and suffered their first defeat of the season.  Nola Weaver had two goals for the Gray Wolves, and Hanna Davis, Caroline Lyttle, Lola Schorr, Leah Sheridan, and Samantha Lupton had one goal apiece.  The Gray Wolves travel to Brighton on Tuesday to take on the Bruins.       [ BOX SCORE] 

EAST AURORA-4 at PAL-MAC-18 -  Reagan Diehl (6g/3a) led the offensive onslaught for the Red Raiders, while Jenna Santelli contributed three goals and three assists, Teagan Hudak collected nine draw controls, and Isabelle Cole had eight saves. For E.J. Burse, the Red Raiders’ coach, the game marked his 200th career win.  Pal-Mac (10-4) hosts Geneva on Monday.        [ BOX SCORE]

MARCUS WHITMAN-2 at WATERLOO-14 -  For the Tigers, the win was their 20th straight over the Wildcats dating back to 2012.  Leading the scoring for Waterloo were Lainie Forde (5g/1a) and Maci Mueller (4g/1a).  Ninth-grader Peyton Lyons recorded seven saves for the Tigers.  Helen Snyder and Raegan Weissinger were the goal scorers for Marcus Whitman (0-13).  The Tigers play host to Mynderse-Romulus on Monday.  The Wildcats look for a win when they host Greece on Wednesday.        [ BOX SCORE] 

GREECE STORM-7 at AQUINAS-17 -  With the win, Aquinas improved its record to 8-5.  Savannah Hinchcliffe had seven goals and an assist to lead the Little Irish; ninth-grader Brynn Henry (2g/3a) and eighth-grader Alexandria Stacy (4g/1a) also made significant contributions.  Mara Misiurewicz scored four goals for Greece (8-5).  Aquinas is home to Eastridge/Bishop Kearney on Monday.  Greece is at Marcus Whitman on Wednesday.         [ BOX SCORE] 

THOMAS-13 at LIVERPOOL-11 -  The Titans traveled to Liverpool (III) and returned home with their fifth win of the season.  Olivia Bottoni and Sadie Eisenhart scored three goals each for Thomas (5-9), Olivia Ritchie and ninth-grader Harper Blakley chipped in two goals apiece, and Mia Estelle registered a game-high eight draw controls.  The Titans resume play Monday with a home game against Irondequoit.       [ BOX SCORE]

strong>DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - It was Penfield over Brighton and Hilton over Schroeder in overtime in the two closest games of the day. Section V went two-for-two against out of Section teams as Canandaigua beat Orchard Park (Section VI) and Rush-Henrietta took out Fayetteville-Manlius (Section III).

strong>DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were five games scheduled for Saturday. HFL lost a tough one to Skaneateles in overtime while Canandaigua beat Pittsford 8-5 and Jordan-Elbridge beat Wayne by the same score.

# 650  Penn Yan and Waterloo Both Win by One Goal
PENN YAN-7 at IRONDEQUOIT-6 - The Mustangs edged the Eagles in another close match.  Bailey Cooper had five goals and one assist for Penn Yan.  For Irondequoit, Ellie Bottiglier and Grace Bottiglier each had two goals.  Eighth-grader Lucy Whipple also had two goals, including the first of her varsity career.  The Mustangs resume play on Friday, when they visit Corning (IV).  The Eagles next play on April 10 at Churchville-Chili.   [ BOX SCORE] - - More images in the photo gallery.

RUSH-HENRIETTA-16 at THOMAS-0 - The Royal Comets enjoyed a successful season opener, led by the scoring of junior Danielle Garrett (4g/3a), sophomore Kate DeWald (4g/1a), ninth-grader Emma DeWald (3g), and sophomore Riley Brown (3g).  Kate DeWald also collected nine draw controls, including the 100th of her career.  On April 4, Rush-Henrietta travels to West Genesee to play a team to be determined, and Thomas visits Pittsford.    [ BOX SCORE] 

MARCUS WHITMAN-3 at PAL-MAC-19 - Of the nine different players who scored for the Red Raiders, five scored their first Varsity goal: Anabelle Grant, Kenzie Miller, Claire Nolan, Brinn Castrechini and  Lia Donaher. SPENCERPORT-12 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-6 - Spencerport defeated HFL this evening in HFL by a score of 12-6.   Molly Guzik led the Rangers with 4 goals, 4 assists and 8 Draw Controls, while Share Angelo (3g) was the leading scorer for the Cougars.  Spencerport carried a slim 5-4 lead into the half but pulled away in the final two frames to double up the Cougars by games end.     [ BOX SCORE] 

PENFIELD-6 at VICTOR-14 - Penfield fell short in its contest against last year’s class B champions.  Allie Pisano (4g/1a), Devin Livingston (4g/1a), Julia Bruno (3g/1a), and Maia Pronti (4a) provided the lion’s share of the scoring for Victor.  There were no statistics reported from Penfield at post time. .Both teams have non-league contests against section II opponents next week; Penfield hosts Bethlehem on April 1, and Victor travels to Saratoga Springs on April 4.    [ BOX SCORE] 

CANANDAIGUA-21 at BROCKPORT-1 - The Canandaigua Gray Wolves travelled to Brockport this evening to open their season with a 21-1 victory.  Hanna Davis (4g-2a), Samantha Lupton (5g-1a), and Leah Sheridan (4g-2a) each tallied 6 points in the convincing win.  Zoe Baase scored the lone goal for Brockport while Goalie Jessica Maher notched 10 saves.  Brockport will try to shake off the loss tomorrow against Gananda-Marion, while Canandaigua will wait a week before their next contest when they will visit Mercy on 4/3.    [ BOX SCORE] 

FAIRPORT-11 at BRIGHTON-7 - Fairport opened its season in defense of its class A title with a win at Brighton.  Lily Kondas (5g) and Katie Mallaber (3g) led the Red Raiders’ attack, while Taylor Frank made nine saves.  For the Bruins, Ella Brunette and Alexandra Madison had two goals apiece.  On April 1, Fairport has a non-league matchup against Cicero-North Syracuse (III).  Brighton plays next on April 12, when they host Victor.     [ BOX SCORE] 

GREECE STORM-11 at WATERLOO-12 - In a tightly contested match, the Warriors prevailed, earning head coach Matthew VanDamme his first varsity win.  For Waterloo, Maci Mueller scored seven goals, Lainie Forde chipped in four goals, and sophomore Bailey Rossignol notched her first career goal.  Mara Misiurewicz scored five goals and Ava Torrence recorded 12 saves for the Storm.  Both teams are off until April 10, when Waterloo hosts Mynderse-Romulus and Greece hosts Brockport.    [ BOX SCORE]
