Waterloo Holds Off Lakers in Tight Contest

[UPDATED] In a closely fought Finger Lakes matchup, Waterloo edged Livonia-Avon-Geneseo 13-12 on Monday evening. Senior midfielder Maci Mueller scored the winning goal and led Waterloo with five goals and five assists, while junior midfielder Bailey Rossignol added four goals and an assist. Sophomore goalie Peyton Lyons was solid in net for the Tigers, registering 13 saves and a 52% save rate. Waterloo remains undefeated with a 3-0 record.

For Livonia-Avon-Geneseo, attackers Lily Rowe (4g/2a) and Maddie Whitford (4g/1a) spearheaded the offense. Junior attacker Kearstin Skelly scored her first varsity goal during the game. Goalie Annabelle Reynolds made seven saves. Livonia-Avon-Geneseo is now 1-2 this season.

The win is Waterloo's first over Livonia-Avon-Geneseo in the teams' fledgling series. On Friday, the Tigers visit Mercy, while the Lakers host Salamanca (section VI).
