# 706  2024 All League Awards

[UPDATED] The annual All-League Awards have been posted and are available on the player pages as well as the awards page.

The Finger Lakes League awarded first team awards to Reagan Diehl, Chelsea Korzeniewski, Anna Priebe, Jenna Santelli, Taryn Goodness, Sidney Clickner, Stella Del Papa, Lainie Forde, Colleen Ginsberg, Myah Herron, Madelyn Hillman, Teagan Hudak, Maci Mueller, Bailey Rossignol, Maddie Whitford, and Amelia Reese.

The Attack Player of the Year was Chelseas Korzaneski from Mynderse-Romulus. The Defender Player of the Year was Taryn Goodness from Pal-Mac. The Midfield Player of the Year was Maci Muller from Waterloo who was also named Finger Lakes Player of the Year. The Head Coach of the Year was E.J. Burse (Pal-Mac).

The USA Lacrosse All-Americans were Molly Guzik (Spencerport), Hanna Davis (Canandaigua), Devin Livingston (Victor), Ella Peers (Fairport) and  Reagan Diehl (Pal-Mac. The All-Academics were Lucy Lederman (Brighton), Angelia Oechsle (Rush-Henrietta), Katie Mallaber (Fairport), and Allie Chimenti ((Wayne).

Monroe County The Monroe County League first team D-1 awards to Katie Mallaber, Madison Van Gorder, Lilly Mattucci, Jenna Capozzi, Peyton Rothfuss, Cecily Kaul, Dani Mooney, Angelia Oechsle, Catrina Rowe, Danielle Garrett, Kate Dewald, Abby Murphy, Allie Pisano, Julia Bruno, Maia Pronti, Ryann Savage, Lucy Ruller, and Mia Estelle.

The D-1 Defensive Player of The Year was Devin Livingston (Victor). The D-1 Offensive Player of The Year was Ella Peers (Fairport) and the Coach of the Year was Dave York (Penfield).

The Monroe County League awarded first team D-2 awards to Zoe Baase, Caroline Lyttle, Hanna Davis, Leah Sheridan, Nola Weaver, Campbell Hewlett, Paige Kidd, Shaye Angelo, Ali Baumgartner, Ella Brennan, Emma Francis, Alyssa Nichols, Brooke Endres, and Molly Meyer.

The D-2 Defensive Player of The Year was Rose Heagney (Canandaigua). The D-2 Offensive Player of The Year was Molly Guzik (Spencerport) and the Coach of the Year was Kevin O`Connell (HFL) who was also selected as the Monroe County Coach of the Year.

The Independent teams also selected awards in 2024. First teams awards went to Mia Lusardi, Krista Harnischfeger, Elinor Meyer, Marina Reddington, Emma Kravetz, Savannah Hinchcliffe, Brynn Henry, Kessa Sangasy, Ada Krupa, Jill Willis, Erica Savage, and Mara Misiurewicz. The Independent Player of the Year was Mia Quagrello (Mercy).

# 703  Victor and Fairport Back to the Finals
strong>DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Section V had teams in all four of the NYS semifinals and two will advance to the championship round as both Fairport and Victor won close games.

FAIRPORT-10 at MASSAPEQUA-9 -   In a tight, back-and-forth contest featuring several second-half lead changes, Brenna Goss (3g) scored the game winner off a free position with 26 seconds left and Marisa Test made a last-second save to secure the win.  The game was a rematch of last year’s class A final, which the Red Raiders similarly won by a score of 10 to 9.   Katie Mallaber led Fairport (14-6) with five goals and two assists.  The Red Raiders advance to the class A final, where they will seek to defend their title against Cicero-North Syracuse (III), in a game to be played at 2 pm Saturday at SUNY Cortland.       [ BOX SCORE

VICTOR-11 at WEST ISLIP-10 -  Although Victor scored early six unanswered goals West Islip scored a couple to go into the halftime break with Victor up 7-2. The Blue Devils still led after three quarters (8-4) and with 2:15 left in the regulation has an 11-7 lead. Throughout the game it looked like the Blue Devils were very much in control and might even dominate, but the Lions came back with three goals in the last two minutes that started with an unforced turnover and a man-up goal as Carly Obloj dodged two and bounced one into the goal with 1:22 left in the game. The Lions won the draw and called time-out with 1:12 left. Francesca Tofano scored on a free position and brought the Lions to within two goals with 0:59 left. West Islip won the draw and picked up another free position opportunity for Tofano who scored with 0:34 left. Once again, the Lions won the draw control and then called a time out with 0:26 left. They took one more shot which went wide and the Blue Devils were able to hang on for the win. Victor will return to the finals once again and will face West Genesee (Section III) at 4:30 on Saturday. MERCY-8 at SAYVILLE -13 -  Sayville (Section XI) maintained their undefeated season with the victory over Mercy in the semifinals today. Although the Monarchs had a 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter, Sayville scored five unanswered goals in the second and led 8-4 at the half.  Dylan McNamara led the scoring for the 20-0  Golden Flashes. Scoring for Mercy (10-10) were Krista Harnischfeger (3g-1a), Mia Lusardi (2g), Sydney Cook (1g-1a), Emma Kravetz (1g), and Lydia Malvaso (1g).         [ BOX SCORE

PENN YAN-4 at COLD SPRING HARBOR-18 -     In a class D semifinal, Penn Yan ran into a buzzsaw in the form of perennial powerhouse Cold Spring Harbor (VIII).  Bailey Cooper (2g/1a) and ninth-grader Makenna Mullins (2g) accounted for all of the Mustangs’ scoring; Cooper also secured seven draw controls, including the 200th of her varsity career.  The Mustangs conclude their season with an outstanding record of 17-4.       [ BOX SCORE

# 689  Penn Yan over Mercy
MERCY-8 at PENN YAN-9 - There were lots of milestone in the close game at Penn Yan this afternoon, Penn Yan Sophomore midfielder Bailey Cooper (5g-2a) scored five goals and two assists as she reached her 200th career goal. Mercy sophomore attacker Sydney Cook (1g) reached her 50th career goal and freshman goalie Elinor Meyer (7s) reached her 100th career save. Junior midfielder Krista Harnischfeger reached her 100th career draw control with her 4 wins for the Monarchs. Leading the scoring for Penn Yan (11-3) were Taylor Mullins (1g-2a), Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger (1g-2a), and Gianna Voigt (1g-1a). Leading the scoring for Mercy (7-7) were Mia Lusardi (3g), Lydia Malvaso (3a), Angelina Borrelli (1g-1a), Mia Quagrello (1g-1a), and Krista Harnischfeger (1g).      [ BOX SCORE

Mercy vs Penn YanMARCUS WHITMAN-11 at AQUINAS-17 -  In a high scoring game Freshman attacker Elizabeth Valentino (Aquinas) scored her first Varsity goal and Junior defender Hailee King (Marcus Whitman) scored her first Varsity goal. Leading the scoring for Aquinas (7-5) were Savannah Hinchcliffe (3g-1a), Alexandria Stacy (4g), Kessa Sangasy (2g), Lily Bell (2g), and Brynn Henry (1g-1a). Aquinas goalie Liz Tantalo recorded 4s/0ga = 100% (24 mins). Leading the scoring for Marcus Whitman were Aliysiah Clark (5g), Helen Snyder (1g-2a), (2g-1a), and Raegan Weissinger (1g). On Saturday Aquinas will host Greece and Marcus Whitman is at Waterloo.        [ BOX SCORE

PENFIELD-18 at SCHROEDER-6 -  Penfield (11-4) extended their winning streak to five games as seven players made the offensive book including Peyton Rothfuss (4g-3a), Whitney Reynolds (4g), Avery Fordham (2g-2a), and Emma Alexander (2g-1a). Penfield goalie Karis Hand recorded 8s/6ga = 57% (48 mins). Scoring for Schroeder (7-7) were Lindsay Ruffalo (1g-2a), Kylee Race (1g-1a), Brooke Guelli (2g), and Molly Meyer (1g-0a). Schroeder is at Penn Yan on Tuesday and Penfield will play at Irondequoit on Wednesday.       [ BOX SCORE

Mercy vs Penn YanIRONDEQUOIT-10 at BRIGHTON-8  - The Eagle has a 4-3 lead after the first quarter and both teams scored two more before the half. A 3-0 third quarter gave Irondequoit (8-6) the win. Leading the scoring for Irondequoit were Grace Bottiglier (3g), Ella Brennan (4g), and Revlie Genier (1a). In the goal for Irondequoit was junior Emma Francis with 10s/6ga = 63% (48 mins). Senior midfielder Jillian Willis had (4g-2a), and senior midfielder Ashley Mandeville added (4g) for Eastridge/BK who will play At Aquinas on Monday.  Leading the scoring for Newark-Midlakes were senior offensive player Stella Del Papa (3g-3a), senior offensive player Kelsea Socha (1g-2a), and 8th grade offensive player Zoey Overslaugh (3g).
