he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

inger Lakes end of season awards come in with 25 First and 24 Second Team All County Players.  There are also 20 Honorable Mention Players.  In addition, there were 2 All Americans and 2 Academic All Americans.  As well as Defense Player of the Year, a Midfield Player of the Year and an Attack Player of the Year.

welve more games were played on the penultimate day of the regular season.  The closest match was Brighton over Spencerport 8-6.  Additional scores included, Canandaigua over Churchville-Chili 15-5, Mynderse over Gates Chili 15-3, Newark over East Rochester 9-5, RH over Hilton 15-5, Schroeder over Brockport 13-8, Pittsford over Irondequoit 13-1,  Waterloo over Geneva 20-8,  Penn Yan over Wayne 19-10, Fairport over Mercy 17-11, Thomas over HFL 11-8.  Penfield vs. Skaneateles was not reported; however social media reports Skaneateles over Penfield 11-5.

# 265  Mapstone Leads Mynderse over East Rochester
fter a close first half, Mynderse pulled away in the last 10 minutes of the first half to defeat East Rochester 15-6.  The Bombers came out of the gate strong and took a 3-0 lead.  The first goal was scored with a drive from behind the cage by Madilynn Walsh.  Mariah Quinzi scored the next two goals for East Rochester off 8m free position shots.  Over half the total goals were scored off 8m shots (8 for Mynderse and 4 for East Rochester).  Myndere’s opening goal was scored by Sarah Shaffer on the 8m line.  East Rochester’s fourth goal was a textbook give and go with Courtney Brock passing off to Sarah Griffin before cutting. Griffin found her cutting from goal line extended.

# 113  Thompson Scores Five in Wildcat Win
Emily Thompson scored five goals in Marcus Whitman's 11-8 win over Mynderse.  The Wildcats scored six unanswered goals in the first half to take control of the game and held off the late advance by the Blue Devils.  Thompson scored all five of her goals in the six goals stretch.  The Blue Devils scored five of the last seven to bring the score closer in the end.

In a game that was back and forth for its entirety, Mynderse scored five of the last six goals to defeat Wayne 8-6.  By the end of the game the lead had changed four times.  Sarah Shaffer finished with 3 goals for the Blue Devils.

# 49  Geneva Takes Lead in Final Three Minutes
Geneva scored the opening goal only 0:39 into the game with an unassisted goal from Ali Turner.  Turner finished with 5g-1a for the Panthers.  The Blue Devils stayed in the game in the beginning of the first quarter.  They scored back to back goals to take their only lead of the game.  Mykenzie Turner and Sarah Shaffer scored for the Blue Devils.

# 44  Canandaigua and Greece Ath/Ody Win Close Games
ith only four games being played tonight, Canandaigua came back in the second half to defeat Penfield 7-5.  Greece Athena/Odyssey held off a late advance by Gates-Chili to win 8-7 in double overtime.  Pittsford defeated Victor 9-4 and Mynderse defeated East Rochester 11-6. Mercy was in Akron, OH to face Archbishop Hoban and defeated them 10-7.

# 28  Mynderse Moves to 2-0 With Win over Greece Ath/Ody
ynderse defeated Greece Athena/Odyssey with a strong second half performance.  The game went into the second half tied 6-6 before Mynderse outscored the Thunder 7-3 in the second half.  The only other game scheduled for today was Brighton and Mercy.  Due to weather concerns, the game was postponed to a future, yet to be determined date.

# 18  2015 All-Greater Rochester
The 2015 All Greater Rochester list was published at the end of the season and Webster Thomas senior Emily Resnick was named the 2015 Player of the Year by the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.  All told, sixteen players were noted on the list.  Leading the charge were players from Churchville Chili, Victor, Pittsford and Irondequoit with two players each.
